Is it necessary to make a sizeable investment in proprietary hardware to support DMAS6?
DMAS6 uses standard commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) hardware including cameras, framegrabbers and processing hardware. This reduces the cost at the time of purchase (as well as over the life of the equipment) and increases the simplicity of the total system. Most, if not all, real-time motion capture systems on the market today use proprietary hardware for processing analog or low resolution digital data.
How can DMAS6 operate without using proprietary digital signal processing boards?
The DMAS6 design team has developed highly optimized multi-tasking and parallel processing algorithms for tracking and data processing, running on regular COTS hardware. This makes it possible with standard computers and processors to process 8-bit, 10-bit, or 12-bit digital video in a less expensive manner and leaves you with many options as regards support and upgrading issues.
Is DMAS6 limited with respect to the technology it supports?
Is DMAS6 limited with respect to the technology it supports?
The DMAS6 System is designed around the very latest digital technologies to fully take advantage of recent advancements in imaging, processing and networking. However, DMAS6 also supports analog video image capture as well as analog data capture (ie. analog sensor data). In short, DMAS6 is not limited with regard to the technology it supports.
Can DMAS6 handle analog video?
Yes, DMAS6 supports analog video image capture. DMAS6 also handles digital video image capture.
Is DMAS6 a “Real-Time” Video Capture system?
Yes, DMAS6 supports real-time image capture. DMAS6 processes all data in real time and computes 3D coordinates, including kinematics and kinetics calculations in real time with latency as low as 0.001 seconds.
Does DMAS6 support other target tracking methodologies?
In addition to real time target tracking, DMAS6 allows the user to perform manual target tracking as well as auto target tracking (a post processing methodologies). DMAS6 uses a target tracking methodology that allows the user to capture 100% of the video data while simultaneously tracking and cataloging all the data points from the captured video.
